Credits you’ve earned at other institutes may count toward your degree at DigiPen (Singapore) through either a Credit Exemption or a Transfer of Credits as outlined below.

Credit Exemption

Freshmen who have completed relevant modules during post-secondary education comparable in scope, content, and academic quality to certain modules offered at the Institute may apply for Credit Exemption. The application period, procedure, and other details will be communicated during the SIT matriculation exercise in July. Upon successful application, exempted credits are counted towards fulfillment of graduation requirements but are excluded from Grade Point Average (GPA) calculation. The final decision regarding Credit Exemption remains at the Institute’s discretion.

Requirements

  • Only polytechnic or relevant modules completed within the last eight years will be considered

  • “Pass” or “P” grades or their equivalent will not be accepted for Credit Exemption consideration

  • A combination of polytechnic or relevant modules may be required to fulfill the credit and syllabus requirements of the undergraduate module(s)

  • Provide the Registrar’s Office a copy of the official transcript and detailed syllabus(es) of the polytechnic or relevant module(s), which should include the module description, topics, assessment criteria, calendar, credits, contact hours, etc.
