Notification of Absence
If you will be absent from a particular class, you must notify the concerned instructor in writing. You may request that your absence be considered excused if you are able to provide supporting documents within a week from the date you were absent. In the final week of the trimester (Week 14), this must be done within 24 hours of the missed attendance. Among the acceptable reasons for an excused absence are as follows:
- Government statutory requirements (e.g., court hearing/subpoena, military call up)
- Illness
- Death in the immediate family
Any other reasons from those listed above will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. To apply for an excused absence, please complete the Application for Excused Absence form with the supporting documents.
Unsatisfactory Attendance
Any student incurring two weeks of consecutive absences in all classes will be considered to have withdrawn from the program. A warning letter will be issued outlining the requirement for the student to explain in writing the reason of prolonged absence, along with the date of return within a reasonable timeline. Failure to respond within the deadline will result in administrative withdrawal.
