DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore is proud to deepen its presence in Punggol Digital District (PDD), Singapore’s first smart and sustainable innovation district. Located alongside government agencies, technology companies, and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), PDD provides DigiPen with the opportunity to accelerate research collaborations, strengthen industry partnerships, and create more opportunities for students to work on real-world industry projects.

DigiPen (Singapore) has been an Overseas University partner of SIT since 2010 and has been part of the PDD community since relocating to the SIT Punggol Campus in August 2024. Building on this strong foundation, DigiPen is embarking on a new phase of growth that will further enhance its role in developing talent, advancing research, and supporting industry transformation in the district.

Growing its footprint with new facilities and programs

Beginning in January 2027, DigiPen (Singapore) will further expand its facilities in PDD to accommodate a growing international student community and support the launch of new, independently offered DigiPen programs. These new offerings — Bachelor of Arts in Digital Entertainment and Creative Technology, Master of Arts in Creative Technology, and Master of Science in Computer Science — reflect DigiPen’s commitment to providing industry-relevant education in fields such as computer science, digital media, and interactive technologies.

Together, they broaden the pathways available to both local and international aspiring animators, artists, and digital creators, as well as working professionals seeking to specialize in areas such as real-time cinematics, procedural art, game engines and advanced software systems.

New and continuing R&D with GovTech and SIT

At the same time, DigiPen (Singapore) is expanding its research and development activities within PDD through collaborations with fellow district tenants Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech Singapore) and SIT, specifically in the area of digital twins.

DigiPen’s work in digital twin technology — virtual replicas of physical systems that mirror real-world conditions in real time — has been steadily growing through its R&D arm. It began in 2024, when the Institute partnered with SIT to co-develop a virtual campus, a digital twin of the SIT Punggol Campus, with DigiPen (Singapore) leading development of the underlying engine. More recently, DigiPen entered a dedicated R&D collaboration with GovTech Singapore to advance simulation and digital twin technologies for real-world applications. Together, these efforts leverage DigiPen’s expertise in real-time interactive simulation, game technologies, and software engineering to help advance innovation within Singapore’s first smart district.

Strengthening industry partnerships in the district

DigiPen also continues to strengthen partnerships with industry players across PDD. The Institution works closely with partners based in the district such as dConstruct Robotics, GovTech, and ONEMT, fostering collaboration through internships, applied projects, research initiatives, and talent development. Many DigiPen students and graduates are already contributing to organizations within the district, creating strong connections between academia and industry.

This close industry engagement underscores one of DigiPen (Singapore)’s most valuable contributions to PDD: a ready pipeline of skilled talent. With a curriculum grounded in real-world, project-based learning, DigiPen graduates are well matched to the needs of the many technology companies and organizations within the district.

Continuing education and upskilling in Punggol

In addition to its degree programs, DigiPen (Singapore) remains committed to lifelong learning and equipping working professionals with in-demand skills for the digital economy. The Institution will continue to offer continuing education and upskilling courses at PDD.

DigiPen (Singapore) looks forward to playing an active role in PDD as we continue to nurture digital creators and technologists, advance innovative research, and co-create impactful solutions with partners.
